TRUST IS A PRODUCT FEATURE
The Go Prepare Standard
We recommend what solves a real problem
We begin with the situation, the people affected and what is already available. The right answer may be an item you own, an everyday shop purchase, a practical skill or specialist equipment.
We explain limitations as clearly as benefits
A torch needs power, a battery needs recharging, stored food needs rotation and a water filter only treats the hazards it is designed and evidenced to address. No single product makes a household prepared for every emergency.
We distinguish evidence from opinion
Manufacturer specifications, official safety advice, our own assessments and genuine hands-on testing are different things. We will identify the source of important claims and will never present an unperformed test as personal experience.
No manufactured pressure to buy
We will not create fictional reviews, pretend stock, invented discounts or artificial scarcity. Before ordering launches, the shop will continue to say so plainly.
What it means when we evaluate equipment
We aim to show its practical purpose, relevant compatibility, restrictions, maintenance requirements, replacement parts or consumables, and how it compares with an ordinary alternative. We also consider how easy it is to use, charge, carry, store and keep ready over time. A claimed certification, runtime or treatment capability will only be stated when suitable product-specific evidence supports it.
UK needs come first
Recommendations need to make sense for UK weather, typical household situations, local services and the applicable instructions for the product. Relevant legal rules and emergency services may differ within the UK. We will highlight important differences where necessary and direct readers to the official guidance applicable to their location.
Free advice stays useful without a sale
Build My Plan is free and does not require an account or a purchase. Our independent advice approach may recommend supermarkets, repairs or what you already own. Go Prepare is also developing a retail shop, so a product sold by us represents a commercial interest; that should never be disguised as independent third-party testing.
Our standard is a commitment, not a claim that every future product has already been independently tested. Where information has not been verified, we should say so and not present it as fact.
